Pictures are a common and popular resource used to create different designs, but also for entertainment. As such, sharing becomes an important thing, and with the help of PastePic, files can be saved from your clipboard directly to your HDD, or uploaded to a FTP server through a simple connection.
Can be used on the go
The application comes in a lightweight package which doesn’t even require installation to work. On the one hand, this means you’re able to easily carry it around on an external storage device. On the other hand, stability of the target PC is not affected because the program doesn’t need to make any changes to system registry entries.
It goes directly to the tray area on launch, with no prompt or notification to let you know it’s there. In fact, it’s where it spends most of its time, unless you bring it up to paste pictures from your clipboard. What’s more, the window automatically hides back to the tray area whenever it loses focus.
Store files locally, or upload to FTP
There are two methods of saving pictures, but both require a bit of effort. First of all, everything stored inside the program is automatically saved as JPG. Unfortunately, there’s no direct method to bring up the source folder, so you need to manually copy the path from the dedicated field and paste it in File Explorer.
Second, files can be automatically uploaded to your FTP server. For this to be possible though, you first need to pay a visit to the options menu accessed only through the context menu. Here you write down all connection details, including credentials.
Unfortunately, the application doesn’t automatically read clipboard content, and you have to bring up the window to manually paste, or save and upload for every picture. What’s more, content needs to be grabbed from within an editor, because simply copying a picture file, or from the web doesn’t have an effect.
To end with
Taking everything into consideration, we can say that PastePic isn’t quite capable of helping you manage picture files fast. In fact, speed is the only inconvenience here, because there’s no method to have pictures automatically grabbed from the clipboard, and even navigating to the location of saved files can be frustrating.
